Golf is a WALKING Sport: Cartball will drive golf from a declining sport into a death spiral
Golf is a walking sport. Ruling bodies that promote motorized golf (cartball) and pro golf tours that allow motorized carts promote by association that overweight is OK.
Younger generations have always taken up golf for it's sport and individual competitiveness. They see cartball associated with a once in a while party with accompanying alcohol and tobacco, i.e. cigars especially the male golfer.
Cartball will drive golf from a declining sport, i.e. declining participation, into a death spiral as younger generations become more and more repelled by the images of overweight individuals participating in it as an occasional entertainment outlet.
Overweight is not a vanity issue. It is a health issue.
Vigorous multiple weekly exercise is the only cure for overweight.
Year-around participation in a sport is the only valid approach to exercise. And, the only valid cure for overweight.
Golf is the only lifetime sport and motorized golf (cartball) is not golf. Golf is a WALKING sport.
Diamond Atlanta Golf Trainer
... objective is to train golfers personally to play golf - not learn golf...
Golf is not as difficult as it is thought to be generally.
My training is for beginners. I don't teach golf. I train beginners to play golf with emphasis on the word play.
Golf should not be drudgery. It should be recreation. Recreation should equal play & fun not drudgery or in some cases, mental & physical suffering.
You want to golf or, perhaps, need to for business reasons. You dislike the process of beginning to golf. You've wanted to start, but heard all the stories from other beginners trying to golf and failing.
How do you get to the point of being able to play golf? You find someone that can train you to play golf and not have you engage in the drudgery that golf can become when one focuses not on playing golf, but on the technical jargon of trying to learn golf.
It may seem remarkable or even ridiculous to just play something and forget about learning it. My objective is to train golfers personally to play golf - not learn golf or be taught technical golf positions.
Training sessions include tee shots; approach shots – especially recovery shots including long pitch shots from off the fairway and pitch shots from between and over sand bunkers; sand shots; chip shots from various distances; and putting especially from inside 15'.
